31 Jan 1855, James Mather (33) a Machine Printer from Glossop son of Peter Mather a Grocer married Fanny Cross (32) from Bury, daughter of James Cross, Farmer at St Mary the Virgin, Bury.
In 1871, James Mather (49, born Bury) was a machine printer at Glossop, "son" of Sally (but only 11 years younger than her)
