James Mather

James was born in December 1881 in Bolton.¹

James' father was John Thomas Mather and his mother was Hannah Joynson. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Elizabeth (Betsy) Broom. He had three brothers and a sister, named Charles, Ernest, Fred and Mary. He was the oldest of the five known children. He died as a war casualty, killed in action during the Great War 1914-1918. , about 1916. His burial was about 1916 at St. Michael (Gt. Lever).²²
