Grace was born in June 1876 in Salford.¹

Birth Notes

Grace's father was Sir William Mather and his mother was Emma Jane Watson. His paternal grandparents were William Mather and Amelia Tideswell. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Colin, William, Norman, Loris, Alice, Florence, Dorothy and Marjorie. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 21 in 1897.
