George Mather

George was born in 1834 in Ainsworth and his baptism took place on March 8th, 1834 at Christ Church, Ainsworth.¹²

George's father was James Mather and his mother was Fanny Nuttall. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Betty Walker. He had a brother and six sisters, named Samuel, Fanny, Elizabeth, Esther, Alice, Sarah and Mary. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 41 in July 1875 in Prestwich. His burial was on July 28th, 1875 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).³
