Elizabeth Ann Mather

Elizabeth was born in November 1857 in Sharples and her baptism took place on December 6th, 1857 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹²

Elizabeth's father was James Mather and her mother was Ann Horrobin. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Mather and Sarah Rostron. She was an only child. She died at the age of 79 in March 1937 in Chorley.³

  2 Feb 1878, James Walker (21) a warper of 20 Cardwell Street, son of Samuel Walker a warper married Elizabeth Ann Mather (20) of 92 Blackburn Road, daughter of James Mather (dec) a weaver at St Peter's, Bolton.
  
  In 1881, James and Elizabeth (24 & 23) were at 1 Brindley Street, Little Bolton Higher End with James (2) and Ernest (6mo) and her parents James and Alice Turner (47 & 50)
  
  In 1891, James and E A Walker (34 & 33) are living at 6 Seymours Road, Sharples Village with James (12), Ernest (10) and Emma (7). Elizabeth's parents James and Ann Turner (60 & 63) had a house at the same address.
