Edmund Mather

Edmund was born in June 1797 in Withnell and his baptism took place on July 23rd, 1797 in Brindle.¹

Edmund's father was Robert Mather and his mother was Peggy Duerden. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Esther Mason. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Robert, Thomas, Richard, Esther and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the seven known children. He died at the age of 33 in December 1830 in Newchurch in Rossendale. His burial was on December 15th, 1830 in Newchurch in Rossendale.²

General Notes
- Edmund was born about 1796 as aged 34 when died at Newchurch in Rossendale. The 1797 baptism for Edmund son of Robert at Brindle, abode Withnell is a good match. Other siblings of father Robert were also born at Withnell.
  
  There are two Edmund deaths at Newchurch in Rossendale. His son was buried 13 Jan 1824 (with both parents named), and then Edmund himself 15 Dec 1830 (agd 34 so born 1796)

- From 1823 Edmund's occupation was Dyer in Newchurch in Rossendale. He died in 1830 while still employed there.
