Ann was born in June 1855 in Prestwich and her baptism took place on October 2nd, 1855 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).1 2  Ann's father was William Mather and her mother was Alice Ashton. She had eight brothers and a sister, named Richard, John, Henry, Samuel, Joseph, Edwin, William, Arthur and Alice.  She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  She died at 4 months old in October 1855 in Prestwich.  She was buried on October 7th, 1855 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Prestwich).3
