James Lowe

James was born in July 1813 in Little Bolton and his baptism took place on July 16th, 1813 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹

James' father was Thomas Lowe and his mother was Sarah Mather. His maternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Martha (Matty) Ramsden. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Jesse, William, George, Betty and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 52 in May 1866 in Bolton. His burial was in May 1866 in Farnworth.²
