Rachel Jones

Rachel was born on April 1st, 1822 in Wepre and her baptism took place on August 11th, 1822 in Hawarden.¹

Rachel's father was Richard Jones and her mother was Rachel Bennett. Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Bennett and Elizabeth Millington. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, John, Joseph, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Martha and Alice. She was the oldest of the nine children.

- Rachel was not with her family in 1841. She had already married in 1840.
  
  27 Oct 1840, Rachel Jones (19) of Wepre, daughter of Richard Jones a Pilot married William Edwards (18) a fisherman of Connah's Quay, son of RObert Edwards, also a fisherman.
  
  In 1841, Rachel and William Edwards (both 15, but rounded down), a fisherman, were at Wepre with their daughter Martha (1 mo, born 7 April 1841) and Rachel's sister Ann Jones (9)
  
  In 1851, Rachel and William (both 28) were still at Wepre with daughter Martha (9), William now a mariner.
