John Hopley

John was born in 1839 in Farndon.¹ John's father was Samuel Hopley and his mother was Sarah Hughes. His paternal grandparents were Charles Hopley and Mary Poovah. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Charles, Thomas, Emma and Ann.

General Notes
- John aged 12 appears oin the 1851 census with his father John, a farm labourer from Shocklach and mother Sarah from Farndon.
  
  By 1861 John is a Carter (servant), aged 22 for the Parker family (farmers of 120 acres) at Churton by Farndon.
