Hannah was born in 1796 in Bickley and her baptism took place on October 23rd, 1796 in Malpas.1 2  Hannah's father was Joseph Hopley and her mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Perry.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hopley and Cicely (Cecilla) Johnson. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named George, John, George, Joseph, Mary, Cecily, Cecily, Elizabeth, Anne, Mary and Martha.
