William Hodkinson 
William was born in 1807 in Westhoughton. William's father was Adam Hodkinson and his mother was Mary Mather. His maternal grandparents were Robert Mather and Jane (Jenny) Sale. He had a brother and four sisters, named Adam, Catherine, Ann, Mary and Margaret. He was the oldest of the six known children.-
