John is the assumed oldest son of Abigail and Ralph. His first children were named after his mother and father (Abigail and Ralph), but both died as infants.
In 1841, John Eddows (30) was living at Wardley Lane, Eccles with Isaac and Sarah Hall (both 45) and the children, the oldest being Ann, aged 10.
In 1846, John Eddowes married Ann Hall at Chorlton
In 1861, John had two of his brother Ralph's orphaned children staying with him.
