Catherine was born in August 1746 in Harwood and her baptism took place on August 10th, 1746 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Catherine's father was John Crook and her mother was Hannah (Ann) Twisse.  Her maternal grandparents were Peter Twisse and Katherine Welch. She had two brothers and three sisters, named John, Peter, Mary, Ellen and Betty.  She was the third youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 21 in 1767 in Bolton.  She was buried on June 5th, 1767 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2
