Hannah was born in April 1753 in Uppermill and her baptism took place on April 27th, 1753 at St. Chad (Saddleworth).1  Hannah's father was James Buckley Snr and her mother was Elisabeth (Betty) Cresswell. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John, James, Joseph, John, William, Betty and Anne.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
