Ralph was born in 1811. Ralph's father was Ralph Brereton and his mother was Alice Owen. His paternal grandparents were William Brereton and Martha Jennion. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Thomas, William, Martha, Ann, Mary, Esther, Elizabeth, Ellen and Sarah. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.General Notes
