Gweldoline's father was Frank Brereton and her mother was Florence Jackson. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Brereton and Ellen Bebbington. She had a sister named Irene. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 57 on December 30th, 1955 in Crewe.²
