Rachell's father was John Booth and her mother was Nancy Mather.  Her maternal grandparents were Edward Mather and Ann Brambley. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Benjamin, Mary and Margaret.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 10 in September 1877.
