Margaret was born on February 6th, 1674 in Birkrigg Park.1  Margaret's father was Robert Atkinson and her mother was Jane Hastwhittle.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Atkinson and Agnes. She had a brother named Joseph.  She was the younger of the two children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named David, Amos, Samuel, Emmanuel, Agnes, Hannah and Rachel.  She died at the age of 6 in February 1680 in Birkrigg Park.  Her burial was on February 18th, 1680 in Preston-Patrick.1
