Agnes was born on June 6th, 1701 in Birkrigg Park.1  Agnes' father was David Atkinson and her mother was Sarah Wilkinson.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Atkinson and Agnes Storey; her maternal grandparents were John Wilkinson and Dorothy Wilkinson. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Robert, Rachel, Sarah, Isabel, Dorothy, Hannah, Margaret and Elizabeth.  She was the second youngest of the nine children.
