Jan Frederik Trauernicht

Jan was born in January 1779 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa and his christening took place on January 24th, 1779. Jan's father was Johann Gerdes Trauernicht and his mother was Dorothea van der Schijff. His paternal grandparents were Gerd Janshen Gerdes and Marya Janshen Trauernicht. He had six brothers named Johann, Johannes, Johannes, Jacobus, Willem and Godlieb. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died before 1802.
