Alma was born on November 17th, 1874 in Tennessee.1   Alma's father was Charles W Hosse and her mother was Anna Augusta Trauernicht.  Her maternal grandparents were Henry Trauernicht and Johanna Knobbe. She had four brothers named Alfred, Walter, Augusta and Charles.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 82 on January 23rd, 1957 in Alameda, Alameda County, California.1
