Mary Ann was born on July 17th, 1843 in Shelby County, Alabama, USA.1   Mary Ann's father was William Issac Howard and her mother was Lucinda Goss.  Her paternal grandfather is William Howard. She had three brothers and six sisters, named William Isaac, James Washington, Alex, Lucy Ann "Babe", Amanda, Julia, Nancy, Susan and Tabitha.  She died at the age of 73 on July 17th, 1916 in Cullman County, Alabama, USA.  She was buried in Ebenezer Cemetery.2
