Sy Taufik's father is Sy Ismail and his mother is Sh Nor Azizah.  His paternal grandfather was Sy Ahmad (Tuan Muda); his maternal grandparents were Sy Abdullah (Busu) and Sh Esah.  He has three brothers and five sisters, named Sy Putera, Sy Nasir, Sy Nur Saifudin, Sh Nur Shikin, Sh Sayang, Sh Intan, Sh Nurul and Sh Nurlela Balkis.  He has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Sy Ali and Sh Natrah.
