Noel was born on November 8th, 1921 in Blackrock and his baptism took place there on November 13th, 1921 conducted by Reverend Carthy.  His godfather was James McGuire and his godmother was Philomena Mooney.  Noel's father was Michael Hannon and his mother was Brigitta Maria Murray.  His paternal grandparents were Michael Henry Hannon and Mary Redmond; his maternal grandparents were Michael Murray and Alice (Dolly) Williams. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Jimmy, Dermot, Louie, Alice and Joan.  He was the oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Michael, May and Rita.  He died of an unknown cause at the age of 78 in September 2000.  He was cremated in Suffolk.

‌Noel and Elsie were married in a religious ceremony in January 1944 in Newmarket.  They had two sons named Michael and James.
