Dermot was born in 1930.  Dermot's father was Michael Hannon and his mother was Brigitta Maria Murray.  His paternal grandparents were Michael Henry Hannon and Mary Redmond; his maternal grandparents were Michael Murray and Alice (Dolly) Williams. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Noel, Jimmy, Louie, Alice and Joan.  He was the third youngest of the six children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Michael, May and Rita.  He died due to a medical problem at the age of 13 on October 30th, 1943 in St Vincents Hospital, Dublin.  He was buried on January 11th, 1943 in Deans Grange Cemetery Plot:West/D2/50.1
