Dirk was born on June 10th, 1854 in Amersfoort.1  Dirk's father was Hermanus Veenendaal and his mother was Steventje Schouten.  His paternal grandparents were Hermanus Veenendaal and Antonia Lambrechts/Lambregs/Lambregt; his maternal grandparents were Dirk Schouten and Reijertje Wouters. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Hermanus, Johannes, Antonia Everarda, Reina and Aartje.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 64 on January 5th, 1919 in Amersfoort.1
