Jan/Johannes was born in December 1755 in Amersfoort and his baptism took place there on December 25th, 1755.1 2  Jan/Johannes' father was Jacobus Veenendaal and his mother was Catharine Zoete de Laacke van Villers.  His paternal grandparents were Jan/Jacobus Veenendaal and Geurtje/Geertrui Bootsman/Roberts; his maternal grandparents were Jan de Zoete and Geertruy Mol. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Cornelis, Hendricus, Jacobus, Willemijntje and Jacomina.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 80 on December 5th, 1835 in Amersfoort.3
