Jan Willemsz was born in 1744.  Jan Willemsz's father was Willem Jansz van Rijn and his mother was Adriaantje Fransd Steyl.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Willemsz van Rijn and Francyntje Ariensd Nieukerk; his maternal grandparents were Frans Sijmensz Steyl and Marijtje Arensd van der Krijgh.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 26 in 1770 in Zouteveen.1
