Willem Jansz was born in March 1703 in Maassluis and his baptism took place there on March 14th, 1703.  Willem Jansz's father was Jan Willemsz van Rijn and his mother was Francyntje Ariensd Nieukerk.  His paternal grandparents were Willem Jansz van Rijn and Trijntje Cornelis.  He was an only child.  He died in an accident or as a result of an injury at the age of 55 in 1758 in op Zee.  His body was never found.
