Pieter was born on April 15th, 1832.1  Pieter's father was Cornelis Leene and his mother was Martina Mol.  His paternal grandparents were Pieter/Petrus (Pieter) Leene and Catharina de Jong; his maternal grandparents were Martinus Mol and Petronella/Pieternella Mooijman. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Martinus Petrus, Cornelis Petrus, Adrianus Marinus, Petrus Carolus Johannes, Maria Helena, Antonia Alida Martina and Johanna Pieternella.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 38 on April 8th, 1871 in 's-Gravenhage.
