Cornelis was born on January 12th, 1812 in 's-Gravenhage.¹

Cornelis' father was Pieter/Petrus (Pieter) Leene and his mother was Catharina de Jong.  His paternal grandparents were Cornelis Leene and Helena Bentvelzen; his maternal grandparents are <Unknown> and Ambrosina Maria Martis. He had a brother and two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Pieter, Theresia, Helena Maria Catharina and NN.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 37 on July 18th, 1849.
