Martina Catharina was born on February 9th, 1865 in 's-Gravenhage.  Martina Catharina's father was Cornelis Petrus Leene and her mother was Geertruida Adriana Muijzer.  Her paternal grandparents were Cornelis Leene and Martina Mol; her maternal grandparents were Bernardus Jacobus Muijzer and Pieternella Wijtman. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Bernardus Petrus, Simon, Martinus Josinus, Adrianus Johannes, Petronella Johanna and Jacoba Hendrika.  She was the oldest of the seven children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Petrus, Jacobus Johannes, Josephus Ignatius, Johanna Jacoba and Cornelia Anna.  She died at the age of 76 on August 7th, 1941 at Oosteinde, Voorburg.1
