Lucy was born in 1703 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.1   Lucy's father was Joseph (John) Andrews Sr and her mother was Sarah Ringe.  Her paternal grandparents were Lt John Andrews and Jane Jordan; her maternal grandparents were Daniel Ringe and Mary Kinsman. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, John, Daniel, Sarah, Susanna, Jane, Hannah and Dorothy.  She was the youngest of the nine children.
