Thomas was born in 1736 in Stallingborough, Lincolnshire, England and his baptism took place there on October 8th, 1736.  Thomas' father was Mr John Racke and his mother was Mrs Ann NK.  His paternal grandparents were Mr William Racke and Mrs Jane West. He had two brothers named William and John.  He was the youngest of the three children.
