John was born on November 6th, 1848 in Grimsby, Lincoln, England and his christening took place on November 26th, 1848 in Saint James Church, Grimsby, Lincoln, England.  John's father was William Rack and his mother was Sarah Ann Corringham.  His paternal grandparents were John Rack and Harriet Johnson. He had five brothers and a sister, named Robert, William, George, Joseph, Benjamin and Anna.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 1 in 1849 in Grimsby, Lincoln, England.  He was buried on February 10th, 1849 in Saint James Church, Grimsby, Lincoln, England.
