Charles was born on April 14th, 1850 in Simla, Himachal Pradesh, India and his baptism took place on August 11th, 1850 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.  Charles' father was Mr Donald Macleod and his mother was Mrs Ann Catherine Heron.  His paternal grandparents were Mr NK NK and Mrs NK NK. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Malcolm, Percy, James, Laura, Adeline, Emily, Frederica, Ellen and Clarissa.  He died at the age of 2 on October 30th, 1852 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
