Geoffrey's father is Thomas Allen and his mother was Phoebe Walsleben.  His maternal grandparents were Johann Heinrich Emelius Walsleben and Faby Green. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Henry (Harry), Stanley, Greta, Dorothy, Maud and Freda.
