Elizabeth was born on October 15th, 1918.  Elizabeth's father was George Atkins and her mother was Maria (Mary) Hansen-Ankersen.  Her maternal grandparents were Christian Hansen-Ankersen and Caroline Jessen. She had two sisters named Carolyn and Alice.  She died at the age of 88 on January 23rd, 2007.

Elizabeth and Leonard were married in 1941.  They had a son and a daughter, named Leonard and Merideth.
