Henry was born about 1847 in Leeds, West Yorkshire..  Henry's father was John Alderson and his mother was Mary Walker.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Alderson and Elizabeth Thackray; his maternal grandparents are James Walker and Jane Smith. He had five brothers and three sisters, named william, Joseph, John, Fred, Paul, Hannah, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother named James.  He died on December 2nd, 1855.
