Wilhelmina was born on November 18th, 1774 in Potsdam.  Wilhelmina's father was Frederick William_II and her mother was Frederica of_Hesse- Darmstadt.  Her paternal grandparents were Augustus William and Louise of_Brunswick; her maternal grandparents were Ludwig_IX of_Hesse- Darmstadt and Caroline of_Zweibrucken.  She was the fourth of eight children.  She had five brothers and two sisters, named Frederick William_III, Louis, Charles, William, Son Stillborn, Christine and Augusta.  She had a half-sister named Frederica Charlotte of_Prussia.  She died at the age of 62 on October 12th, 1837 in The Hague.
