Stephen was born in 1096 in Blois,France.  Stephen's father was Stephen Henry and his mother was Adela.  His maternal grandparents were William_I the_Conqueror and Matilda of_Flanders.  He was the oldest of five children.  He had three brothers and a sister, named Theobald, Henry of_Winchester, William and Matilda.  He died at the age of 58 on October 25th, 1154 in Dover Castle.  His burial was in Faversham Abbey.
