Matilda's father was Stephen Henry and her mother was Adela.  Her maternal grandparents were William_I the_Conqueror and Matilda of_Flanders.  She was the fourth of five children.  She had four brothers named Stephen, Theobald, Henry of_Winchester and William.  She died in 1120.
