Sophia was born in 1719.  Sophia's father was Frederick William_I and her mother was Sophia Dorothea Hanover.  Her paternal grandparents were Frederick_I and Sophia Charlotte; her maternal grandparents were George_I Hanover and Sophia Dorothea of_Celle.  She was the eighth of thirteen children.  She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Frederick Louis, Frederick William, Frederick_II the_Great, Louis Charles William, Augustus William, Henry, Ferdinand, Charlotte Albertine, Frederica Louise, Philippine Charlotte, Louise Ulrika and Anna Amelia.  She died at the age of 46 in 1765.
