Sophia was born in 1630.  Sophia's father was Frederick_V of_Palatinate and her mother was Elizabeth Stuart.  Her maternal grandparents were James_I Stuart and Anne of_Denmark.  She was the third of eleven children.  She had six brothers and four sisters, named Frederick Henry, Rupert of_Cumberland, Charles Louis, Maurice, Edward, Philip, Elizabeth of_Hervorden, Louisa Hollandine of_Maubisson, Henrietta Maria and Charlotte.  She died at the age of 84 in 1714.
