James_I was born on June 19th, 1566 in Edinburgh Castle,,Scotland.  James_I's father was Henry Stuart and his mother was Mary Stuart.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Stuart and Margaret Douglas; his maternal grandparents were James_V and Mary of_Guise.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 58 on March 27th, 1625 in Theobalds Park,Hertfordshire,Herts,England.  His burial was in Westminster,Abbey,London,England.
