Frederick_III was born on October 18th, 1831 in Neues Palais,Potsdam,Germany.  Frederick_III's father was William_I of_Germany and his mother was Augusta of_Saxe-Weimar.  His paternal grandparents were Frederick William_III and Louise of_Mecklenburg- Strelitz.  He was the youngest of two children.  He had a sister named Louise.  He died at the age of 56 on June 15th, 1888 in Neues Palais,Potsdam,Germany.  His burial was in Friedenskirche,Potsdam,Germany.
