Evelyn was born on October 25th, 1896.  Evelyn's father was Alfred Rowbottom and her mother was Martha Hancock.  Her paternal grandparents were James Rowbottom and Jane Pattrick; her maternal grandparents were William Hancock and Hannah. She had four brothers and five sisters, named James, Alfred, Edward, Roland, Hannah, Lucy, Elsie, Hilda and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 90 in 1986.
