Sydney was born in August 1956.  Sydney's father was Peter Sydney Ernest Lawford and her mother was Patricia Kennedy.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph P. Kennedy and Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald.  She has a brother and two sisters, named Christopher, Victoria and Robin.  She is the second oldest of the four children.
