James was born in 1866.  James' father was Preston Glover and his mother was Selina Danks.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Glover and Sarah  Street (Glover). He had two brothers and two sisters, named Charles, Joseph, Lizzie and Maude.  He was the oldest of the five children.
